Riding at Last
Riding season is here at last! After winter never wanted to end, it felt like forever before the trails would dry out. But here we are, riding at last! While not everywhere is open, what is open is riding amazing.
Group rides are back!
This week was the first group ride of the year, and there’s no better way to get back into the swing of riding than with everybody else. For the time being, miners park are the trails of choice up until June 3rd, when it heads down to WinMan for the first time. All the rides are no-drop and for all abilities, so anybody can come out and enjoy some riding and socializing.
Copper Peak soon?
You might notice a few dates on the schedule have a TBD location on them. That’s because of the construction going on over at Copper Peak. I’m sure most of you have seen their plans to renovate the ski jump and turn Copper Peak back into one of the premier ski flying areas in the world. The downside of that is the required construction leaves the whole area around the hill closed for the time being, with just the lift part of the adventure ride open on Sundays, and the bike trails closed for the time being. They are estimating them to be done enough to open trails around mid-July.
Help clean up WinMan!
In other trail opening news, WinMan is hosting their annual spring clean up day on Saturday, May 17th to help get the trails ready to open. Usually this helps them get open about a week later, so I would bet that they’ll be open for riding Memorial Day weekend. You can join for the morning, afternoon, or all day.
With any luck riding will be in full swing with all trails open soon enough, bringing our special trails back to life for the year. In the meantime,
Happy Adventuring!
